To be fully transparent I’m a ok state fan and really like Jenkins. I still remember his coming to the defense of Fields on a late hit and the Bears fellow lineman getting in his face about it. Tevin’s attitude and playing ability has been one of the best for the Bears. Pace and Nagy abused him his rookie year trying to make him play despite his back injury to save face. That said he has had availability issues. And even with that he’s been a better player than Davis. So if he’d sign a team friendly two year deal then see what happens I’d be all for it.

Kap, they have 37 wins. That’s 44 from getting to 81 to be .500. With 84 to play. They would have to play .520 the rest of the year to break even. It’s not impossible but improbable. tev is interesting, sadly people just seem unable to get over that first year, he had a known back issue coming into the draft that may or may not have needed surgery. me personally I knew it was coming and wasn't surprised when the news came down in camp. Tev is a physical mauler, that playstyle comes with drawbacks and injuries are the cost of doing business sadly. That however is true for most Oline positions ie another favorite of mine Trent Williams love him but the man hasn't played a full season in over a decade and even when in games dealt with nagging injuries to his thumb , ankle etc., that didn't stop him from pulling down 20 mill a year. I do find it slightly hilarious that some people outside of this group are raging on tev but want conner williams. Now don't get me wrong I like williams but it's kinda the pot calling the kettle black in terms of their respective injury rapp sheet.

I’m not paying him big money until he proves he can be on the field for the majority of the season…. If he can’t be that guy then he can take what we give him or look for a better offer.

The only issue is availability. Pass blocking check, run blocking check, domination at the line check. He literally checks every other box.

Tev knows it is make or break this season and he is really focused on keeping his body healthy. Really want Tevin to be a not just a long term Bear, but a leader on the O line. Nate can skate, see ya.

This year will tell the tale. He plays well when he is healthy but if he can't come to work then he can't get paid. I would not pay him yet. If all these new players play well in the skill positions then Poles should be able to concentrate some resources on the O Line finally. Go out and get some quality proven linemen.

Let them test the waters in free agency and see if Poles can match or do better.

All players are getting paid more and more. Jenkins will have to play injury free at the level we know he is capable of to get a good contract. It should be very team friendly with an out in the case that his injury history continues at any point. Jenkins is a damn good player when he is on the field. Bear Down!!

EXCELLENT JOB SWIFTY !!!!!!! You hit the nail on the head - Poles by FAR the best GM we have seen in a L O N G time. He knows what he is doing. One more thing to prove the points you made is this : Look not only at the TEAM he has BUILT, but look at the CULTURE. Look at this LOCKER ROOM. We started out last year as many were calling us a “dumpster fire”; and look where this team ended up. That’s because not only did he choose TALENTED players, but men of CHARACTER. They stood beside Coach Flus, demonstrated integrity, loyalty, and character and turned this team around. You cannot put a price on that. At no time did they give up, they didn’t quit, they didn’t make excuses, they PLAYED HARD and now we see the rewards.

And Poles still has a second round pick for next years draft. I call it one of the best trades in NFL history. Complete robbery. 👍🏻

Great job on the subject. In pro football no one can tank or lose on purpose, there just aren't enough games to insure any outcome. One pick or spot in the draft isn't going to rebuild a roster. What Poles has done in 2 years is actually miraculous. I have been a Bears fan longer than Swifty has been alive. We are usually scraping to fill some starting spots with non NFL starting talent. This roster has legitimate starting talent at every spot and reserve talent we have never seen before. Never have the Bears come close to this much talent in a receiving group! The Oline is the best group since 1985 and so is the linebacker group. We have had great individual players, but never near this complete of a roster on both sides of the ball.

If just regular people that watch college football knew who Caleb Williams was 3 years ago of course Poles a GM of an NFL football team knew who he was. I agree 100% that would be insane if Poles somehow didn't know who Caleb was way better than an average fan watching the game.

Connor Williams really improved the Dolphins’ offense, but if we pay that much for a C, it won’t leave us much room for a DE, and that’s something we really need to address. If Connor does come here, I hope he's worth it.

You are right on Swifty. Poles' strategic approach has been amazing. And I cannot believe how fast the turnaround has happened. A little luck with back to back 1.1s didn't hurt. With the salary cap situation and draft capital amassed, the future is bright. I am loving this ascending team!

Players have production incentive contracts either current or in the future. You can't pay a guy enough to tank a game, let alone tarnish their legacy.

I believe the Bears Defense will be Cutthroat this season and our Offense will be better than last year at the floor. Our offensive Ceiling may be top 10, with CW being the X factor. Playoffs this year depends on our Division Games after Caleb warms up the first half of Season. Bears will be a powerhouse in 2 years, owning not just the NFC North, but the NFC.
